Off-Season – Wedding Style
Weddings are expensive. (You knew that, but you might be surprised to learn that some venues charge more when they know services are for a wedding rather than some other type of event.) One way to cut your wedding costs – leaving more money available for starting your new family – is to plan your wedding for a weekday rather than a weekend. On average a Friday (for example) wedding will cost 10 to 20% less than a Saturday wedding. Venue charges, catering costs, and services like DJs, photographers, and even clergy or officiants tend to be cheaper since those professionals are in much less demand on "non-peak" days. If you want to have your wedding on a weekend, Sundays can also be somewhat less expensive, again due to demand.
Also consider getting married in late fall or early spring – charges tend to be lower during those periods as well.
