Central Bancompany ranked 17th in America's Best Banks

Jefferson Bank as part of Central Bancompany is proud to be ranked for the 12th consecutive year on "Forbes Magazine’s list of “America’s Best Banks.” The annual review of the nation’s 100 largest financial institutions ranked Central Bancompany as the 17th best bank in the nation for 2020.

Forbes uses data collected by S&P Global Market Intelligence to rank the nation’s banks. Each bank is measured on ten criteria, including: return on average equity; return on average assets, net interest margin and efficiency ratio. 

Central Bancompany is humbled by this accomplishment. Our goal is to continue the ongoing support each of our 13 community-based banks in order to be the best bank in each of the 75 communities we serve throughout Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Colorado and North Carolina.

To rank the nation’s banks, Forbes used data collected by S&P Global Market Intelligence. The Charlottesville, Va., company gauged each bank based on 10 metrics related to growth, profitability, capital adequacy, and asset equality. Metrics include return on average tangible equity, net charge-offs as a percent of total loans and efficiency ratio, net interest margin, nonperforming assets as a percent of assets; reserves as a percent of NPLs, two capital ratios (Tier 1 and risk-based), and revenue growth over the last 12 months.
