    Mobile and Online Banking

    Using proven technologies and methods to protect your personal information, both Online Banking and Mobile Banking utilize HTTPS, 128-bit SSL encryption (see more below), and application time-out when your PC or mobile device is not in use. In addition, authentication requirements include three layers of information; setting a user ID, secret word, and a password. And, with Mobile Banking, you can use nicknames in place of account numbers. With Mobile Text, masked account numbers are used, so sensitive information is unavailable. Finally, no account information is ever stored on your phone.

    To further strengthen security, there are many steps you can take to ensure the highest level of protection.

    1. Never disclose personal financial information such as your passwords, user IDs, account numbers or PIN numbers. No one from the bank will ever ask for this kind of information.
    2. Some phones offer password protection on the home screen, which you may want to consider.
    3. Don’t open attachments you are not expecting.
    4. Never click on the link provided in an email you believe is fraudulent. It may contain a virus that can contaminate your computer.
    5. If you believe the contact is legitimate, go the company's website by typing in the site address directly or using a page you have previously bookmarked.
    6. Keep your anti-virus software up-to-date. Anti-virus software needs frequent updates to guard against new viruses. Download the anti-virus updates as soon as you're notified that a download is available. Some anti-virus programs offer an "auto-update" feature, where regular updates are made automatically for you.
    7. When you're not online, always disconnect from the Internet.
    8. Always back up the files on your computer.
    9. Install a personal firewall to help prevent unauthorized access to your home computer, especially if you connect to the Internet via a cable modem or a digital subscriber line (DSL) modem.
    10. Maintain current versions of your computer's operating system and Internet browsers.
    11. If you fall victim to an attack, act immediately to protect yourself. Place fraud alerts on your credit files. Monitor your account statements closely.

    Lost or Stolen Phones

    If your phone is lost or stolen, you can disable your phone from any computer immediately. Simply log in to Online Banking, click on Mobile Banking under the Account Services Tab. Then go to “Manage My Preferences” to disable your phone.
