Imagine a life with a peace of mind from card fraud. With Jefferson Bank’s Mastercard® security and EMV Chip Technology, you can rest assured that we are doing everything we can to protect you from potential card fraud.

We’re constantly on the lookout for any suspicious activity or spending on your card. If we see questionable activity, we may notify you via text, email or phone call to validate the purchase. We will NEVER ask you for your card number or PIN number.

Card Lock

Forgot your card somewhere? Card Lock allows you to block new authorizations on your debit card and/or credit card until you need to report the card as Lost/Stolen. When you report a card as Lost/Stolen, we will issue you a new card and number. If you are using Card Lock and find your card, you can unlock and use again!

How to Lock your Card

Simply log into Online Banking or the Mobile Banking App. Under Card Management, select Card Lock. Toggle the switch “off” to lock your card and block new transactions. Found your card? Unlock by toggling the switch “on” to allow all transactions.

Chip Technology

Chip cards have a microchip embedded in the card that provides increased protection against fraud.
Your chip card comes with technology that is already in use around the world, and has been proven to reduce counterfeit fraud.

Chip Cards Are Easy to Use
Your Jefferson Bank Mastercard has chip, contactless and magnetic stripe technology. That means, regardless of what type of terminal a merchant has, you’ll be able to use your card anywhere Mastercard is accepted.

At retailers with chip-enabled terminals.
Insert your card and follow the prompts on the terminal.

At retailers without chip terminals.
Swipe your card and proceed as you normally would.

Over the phone or online.
Provide your card information the way you always have when you’re ready to make a purchase.

Debit Card Fraud Alerts

In the event a debit card transaction is questionable or suspicious, you may receive an alert to confirm your debit card activity is legitimate. This alert may come in one of three ways:

  1. Text
  2. Email
  3. Automated Phone Call

We will NEVER ask you for your PIN number or your card number in any communication we send nor will we redirect you to another site via a link in our communications.

Mastercard® Protection

Zero Liability
Have peace of mind knowing that you won’t be held responsible for “unauthorized transactions” on your Jefferson Bank Mastercard. Zero Liability coverage applies to purchases made in-store, over the telephone, online or via a mobile device. You will not be held responsible for unauthorized transactions if:

  • You have used reasonable care in protecting your card from loss or theft; and
  • You have promptly reported to Jefferson Bank when you knew your card was lost or stolen.

Mastercard Identity Theft Alerts
Your Jefferson Bank Mastercard is available with CS Identity’s (CSID) proprietary Internet surveillance technology that proactively detects stolen personal information and compromised data online. CSID is an industry leader in identity protection and fraud detection. At any point in time, Mastercard Identity Theft Alerts track thousands of websites and millions of data points, to alert you if your personal information is detected in a compromised position online.

Identifying Theft Resolution Services
Identity Theft Resolution Services help you with credit bureau notification and card replacement should you become the victim of identity theft, not just for your Jefferson Bank Mastercard but for all the cards in your wallet.
